Jennifer Aldana graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a Master of Music in 2005, with an emphasis on piano performance. She has 21 years of experience teaching private piano lessons to children and adults, from beginners through advanced. She has experience teaching group piano lessons and music appreciation to college students, in addition to partner and small group lessons to children. Additionally, she has accompanied choirs and vocalists in a Church setting for rehearsals, Masses, funerals, and Christmas performances.
She is a former member of Music Teachers National Association with several years of experience preparing students for the piano rally. The piano rally involves a written theory test, playing 3 pieces from memory, sight-reading, scales, chords, cadences, and arpeggios in front of a judge. The majority of her students earned the highest rating of a superior, a few earned “Outstanding Musicianship” and placed as one of the top three performers in their age group. She is also a former member of Louisiana Federation of Music Clubs, where her students have consistently earned superior ratings at the local “Federation Festival.” She will resume membership with MTNA and LFMC upon completion of her 2nd Bachelor’s degree at SLU. She will graduate in December of 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and will continue teaching private piano lessons at least one day a week.
